Brij Bhushan Singh Alleges Elon Musk’s Role in CJP’s ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ Protest
BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has accused Elon Musk of backing the CJP’s ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ protest in Delhi, calling it a conspiracy against India. No evidence supporting the allegation was cited in the reports.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has triggered a political controversy by alleging that the “Lehra Do Tiranga” protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Delhi was being driven by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Speaking to reporters in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, October 16, Singh described the planned demonstration at Central Park in Connaught Place as a “massive conspiracy” against India. He also alleged that foreign business interests were encouraging the movement to pressure Indian institutions and influence the country’s internal affairs.
What Did Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Say?
Singh questioned why India was being compared with countries such as Bangladesh and Pakistan. He also claimed that the march was intended to intimidate the Supreme Court, calling it an unprecedented development in the country.
He alleged that some foreign business interests wanted to operate in India on their own terms and were encouraging protests to serve their interests.
However, these statements represent Singh’s allegations. The reports cited for this article do not provide independent evidence that Elon Musk organised, funded or directed the CJP protest.
What Is the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ Protest?
The Cockroach Janta Party announced the “Lehra Do Tiranga” demonstration at Central Park in Connaught Place, New Delhi, for October 16. The protest followed the detention and judicial custody of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after an earlier demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
The march was called to express solidarity with the detained activists and draw attention to the group’s concerns involving public institutions and protest restrictions. The event became a political flashpoint, attracting criticism from BJP leaders and support from some opposition groups and student organisations.
Delhi High Court Did Not Ban the Protest
The planned gathering also faced legal scrutiny. On October 15, the Delhi High Court declined to stop the CJP protest at Central Park. The court recorded the Delhi Police’s assurance that it would take lawful steps to regulate the gathering and maintain public order.
Separately, the New Delhi Municipal Council announced that Central Park would remain closed to the public on October 16 and 17 amid administrative and security concerns associated with the planned rally. Delhi Police also issued traffic advisories for Connaught Place and nearby roads.
Why the Allegation Matters
Singh’s comments bring international business interests into an already heated political debate about protests, institutional independence and public order. However, a political allegation should not be treated as a proven fact without supporting evidence.
The key distinction is between criticism of a protest and proof of who organised or financed it. Any claim that a foreign individual directed the demonstration would require credible evidence, such as verified financial records, communications or findings by an authorised investigation.
As of the reports cited here, Singh’s claim about Elon Musk’s involvement remains an allegation. The controversy highlights the need to separate political statements from independently verified facts when reporting on sensitive national issues.
