Kharge Targets PM Modi at INDIA Bloc Rally, Says Opposition Will Not Be Intimidated by Agencies

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of undermining democracy through alleged electoral manipulation and said INDIA bloc leaders would continue their political fight despite pressure from central investigative agencies.

Kharge Targets PM Modi at INDIA Bloc Rally, Says Opposition Will Not Be Intimidated by Agencies

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government while addressing the INDIA bloc's 'Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao' rally in Delhi. He accused the ruling establishment of undermining democratic processes and alleged that governments in several states and at the Centre had come to power through what he described as “vote theft”.

Kharge also said that Opposition leaders would not be intimidated by central investigative agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He asserted that the INDIA bloc had the political strength and determination to continue its campaign.

Kharge Says Opposition Will Not Be Intimidated by Agencies

Addressing the gathering, Kharge said the Opposition had the strength to fight and would not be intimidated by the police, CBI, ED or any other government agency.

He said leaders of the INDIA alliance were equally determined to continue their political struggle and would not retreat because of pressure.

Kharge pointed to the presence of Opposition leaders on the stage as an indication of their collective resolve. According to him, the alliance remained prepared to challenge the government on issues concerning democracy and electoral fairness.

His remarks came amid continuing political exchanges between the ruling BJP and Opposition parties over the functioning of investigative agencies and allegations of political pressure.

Accuses BJP of Dividing People and Manipulating Voter Lists

Kharge accused Prime Minister Modi of attempting to divide people and interfere with their democratic right to choose their representatives.

He alleged that the ruling establishment was trying to influence the electoral process by deciding who should remain on voter lists instead of allowing citizens to exercise their voting rights freely.

The Congress president argued that the right to vote was fundamental to democracy and that any attempt to manipulate electoral rolls or influence voter participation threatened the democratic system.

The INDIA bloc has repeatedly raised concerns over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The alliance has demanded accountability from the Election Commission and called for the protection of eligible voters' names.

Kharge Questions Mandate of Governments in Four Regions

In one of the strongest parts of his speech, Kharge alleged that the Central government and governments in Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh had come to power through electoral manipulation.

He described these governments as products of “vote theft” and called for their removal through political mobilisation.

These allegations were part of his address at the rally. The statement provided does not include supporting evidence or independent findings establishing that the governments concerned came to power through electoral fraud.

The Congress president urged people to support the INDIA bloc's campaign, arguing that public participation was necessary to protect democratic institutions and electoral rights.

Calls for Modi's Removal in the Name of Democracy

Concluding his remarks, Kharge made a direct political appeal against Prime Minister Modi.

He said that removing Modi from power was necessary to protect democracy and repeated the slogan: “Remove Modi, save democracy.”

The slogan reflected the Congress president's effort to turn the rally into a broader political campaign against the BJP-led government.

Kharge's speech focused on three main themes: alleged electoral irregularities, opposition to the use of investigative agencies for political purposes, and the need for greater unity among Opposition parties.

INDIA Bloc Seeks Wider Public Support

The INDIA bloc's rally in Delhi is part of its campaign against alleged electoral irregularities and the SIR process. Opposition leaders have argued that electoral transparency and the protection of voting rights are essential for maintaining public confidence in democratic institutions.

Kharge's remarks sought to reinforce the alliance's position that the issue goes beyond party politics and concerns the functioning of the country's democratic system.

However, the allegations made against the BJP and the governments mentioned in his speech remain political claims and require examination against verifiable evidence and the responses of the authorities concerned.
