Why ground reporting matters, and how we will do it
Every story passes through three pairs of eyes: the writer, the proofreader and the editor
News from big cities finds its way to the front page easily. But a village's broken bridge, a school's leaking roof or a handpump's dirty water does not become news until someone goes there and records it.
Uncovered India exists to fill that gap. Citizen reporters send problems they have seen with their own eyes, verified experts write about their own fields, and every story is published only after a proofreader and a senior editor have checked it.
Every writer's full profile, qualifications and published work are on their profile page, so readers can judge for themselves how much to trust each story.
