Five Members of Family Found Dead in Greater Noida; Food Poisoning Suspected

A tragic incident came to light in Nagla Shri Padam village, under the Rabupura police station area of Greater Noida, on Saturday morning, October 17. Five members of the same family, including a husband, his wife and their three young children, were found dead inside their home.

The deceased have been identified as Mahesh, 37, his wife Lalita, 35, and their children: Laddu, 11, Mishti, 7, and Sakshat, 3. According to initial reports, neighbours became concerned when the family did not wake up for a long time in the morning. They knocked on the door but received no response. When they looked inside through a window and saw the family lying on the beds without movement, they alerted the police.

Police officers entered the house and found all five family members unresponsive. They were taken to a hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared them dead.

Noodles eaten the previous night; food poisoning suspected

According to the information shared by neighbours and Mahesh's mother, the family had eaten noodles on Friday night, October 16. This led to an initial suspicion of food poisoning. However, police have not confirmed that the noodles caused the deaths. The exact cause will be determined through post-mortem examinations and scientific tests.

A team from the Food Safety Department, along with police officers and forensic experts, reached the scene to investigate. Officials began collecting evidence and examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Forensic investigation underway

Police are examining the case to establish what happened inside the house. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations, and forensic experts began collecting evidence.

The findings may help investigators determine whether the deaths were caused by contaminated food, a poisonous substance or another factor. Authorities have said that further action will depend on the post-mortem reports and other scientific findings. At this stage, no final conclusion should be drawn about the cause of death or the food consumed by the family.

What is food poisoning, and how can families stay safe? Food poisoning occurs when a person consumes food or water contaminated with harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites or chemicals. Symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever. Severe cases may cause dehydration and can become life-threatening.

Families can reduce the risk by following a few simple precautions: -Check food freshness: Avoid food that smells unusual, has changed colour or appears spoiled. -Store food safely: Refrigerate perishable food promptly and do not leave cooked food at room temperature for long periods. -Cook food properly: Follow cooking instructions and make sure food is heated thoroughly. -Maintain cleanliness: Wash hands, cooking utensils and food-preparation surfaces. -- Seek medical help quickly: Severe vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, confusion, difficulty breathing or signs of serious dehydration require urgent medical attention.

These precautions are general food-safety advice and do not indicate the cause of the Greater Noida deaths.

Investigation continues The deaths of five members of one family, including three children, have shocked residents of Nagla Shri Padam village. Investigators are now waiting for medical and forensic findings to establish the cause.

The key point: The family reportedly ate noodles before the deaths, but a connection has not been established. The post-mortem reports and scientific investigation will be crucial in determining what happened.
